right please read to the end because i spent way too long writing this caption first, i’m supporting @lukejameswilliamsuk this friday at @fortyfiveuk (York!) it’s gonna be a little solo set and i might even play some new ones if you come. now here comes the spiel: i have had the loveliest summer which included but was not limited to climbing this very beautiful mountain and i wanted to share it with you. i was going to remove the sound of my PANTING but i decided to keep it in to demonstrate how hard i worked for that view 🥵 i’ve spent most of this summer feeling peaceful for the first time in a long long long time. it’s been a very *eventful* year for me and i like to think i’ve channelled my inner kelly clarkson and emerged from it at least slightly stronger than i was before - i guess we will see. in reflective times like these i am grateful again for all the support i’ve had with the moosic thing, so thanks for having my back. at the end of this month i am taking a risk and going on a long journey by myself (at least long for me!!) for something music related. i’m excited, i’m shitting myself, i don’t know whether it will pay off. either way, i’m looking forward to what the future brings:) love to you all x

before i post about how fucking amazing tour was, there is one person in particular that deserves a special mention. i am gutted to announce that the best keys player in the universe @selfievegar is moving back to his hometown of Geilo, Norway - which happens to be about 1104 miles away from here. while this won’t be the last time we see or work with Vegar, it does mean that unfortunately, we must very ceremoniously and lovingly boot him out the band. happy international women’s day to the best bassist and drummer a girl can wish for @schimmusic and @emxliu 🥺 (and happy tuesday to @joshaitkenmusic and @selfievegar , you guys are great too) when i first started doing gigs, it wasn’t unusual for me to be the only girl on the lineup, or in the room. this time last year, i got in an uber *alone* with a guitar and the driver asked if it was my boyfriend’s 🙃 we still have a long long way to go - women, people of colour, working class people, queer people, trans people and other marginalised groups are still under-represented. but i really believe that the yorkshire music scene is diversifying, not just in terms of gender - and as a result there is an abundance of truly amazing music coming out of this lovely place. this hasn’t happened out of the blue so pls find tagged below some amazing organisations, promoters and people doing amazin things for diversity in music in leeds and beyond. i have personally received support from some of these organisations and i am incredibly grateful. pls add more in the comments! here are some band pics from the crescent gig, love to u all xx @girlscanplayguitar @bloomsessions @cpwmco @wharfchamberscc @girlgangleeds @helpmusicians @yorkshire_sound_women_network @wearethemu @bookmorewomen pics from our gig at the crescent: @wellshoot_itsmorgan 📸

this is a weird time. I hope everyone is ok. hopefully my fun facial expressions will cheer you, although this is one of the saddest songs I know. this cover is imperfect because life is too short to film more than one take. these past two months have been a bit crazy. many gigs:), many deadlines:(, much stress. so - after one more gig on the 15th March (details tbc) I've decided to TAKE LIFE EASY for a few weeks to spend more time on some exciting things... you know when you just need a SAFE PLACE so you can be YOURSELF AGAIN? sorry for the long post, hope it didn't make you DRIFT OFF. I'm now regretting writing a song called LENDEMAIN because I can't fit it into a sentence. to every one who has come to my gigs and listened to my music, I cannot express how much that means to me and I feel very lucky to have such wonderful talented people around me. Wow... over 75 people squashed into @thefulfordarms last night at my EP launch. originally it was going to be a seated gig, which has a capacity of about 40-45... needless to say, we had to switch it up a little! Having that many people listening so intently was truly one of the most amazing experiences of my life.
